A New York-based pharmacist was arrested on charges stemming from the illegal use of counterfeit Viagra in March.
Pfizer, the world's largest drug maker, had said it would continue selling the drug despite reports that it was contaminated. That prompted regulators to pull Viagra from the market.
Pfizer, which is developing a cheaper version of its erectile dysfunction drug, was found guilty of health-related offenses in a federal case in March. It was later found to have illegally diverted millions of dollars from Pfizer and other health care providers. (Pfizer says it was "not in violation" of federal law.)
In April, a federal jury in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania found Pfizer liable for more than $6 billion in damages.

According to the New York Times, the FDA recently updated drug safety policies to reflect the risk of adverse events linked to the use of Pfizer Viagra.
The new drug label states that it is not "an FDA-approved drug or a prescription drug and has not been authorized for sale by a health care provider."
Pfizer says it is not reviewing the new label and is working with state health regulators to update it.
